I've got to say this movie ws really good. I didn't think I'd like it, being a fan of the riginal film and original cartoon. The effects were good and they really used them in the fight scenes, Really stylish and the voices fitted the characters
Much like the first film, the reason this succeeds is in its determination to take the characters seriously - no easy feat, just read the title. Yet in doing so it becomes less a cartoon and more a serious film. Of course, it's hardly Akira and there's still plenty for kids to enjoy, but it has enough depth in the characters and the story to keep adults entertained also. A really good film.
This did TMNT a great justice. I love the CGI, and the voice acting was very well done. I know its for kids, but I'll never give up the turtles!
Good fun and a welcome comeback for these childhood favourites of mine. The story is nothing special and stuffed with clichés, but it's very entertaining and I really liked the animation and character design. Just don't expect too much, as the level of writing is aimed mainly for kids.
Pretty good for an updated version of everyone's beloved childhood team. The CGI camera movement was actually quite impressive...they used some cool angles and setups. I wasn't blown away by the new turtle look...they're skinny as hell! What the fuck is up with skinny Ninja Turtles? That's SO WRONG....but a good kids movie I suppose.
the animation might take a little getting used to,but this movie is cool.lots of action and cool new characters.I got this movie for my kids but I'll watch it with them everytime.
Considering I have a little brother, this movie was kind of forced on me. But as it turns out, I really really really liked it.
I loved it, took me back to being younger. The animation was really good and the story was alright. The characters are still their awesome selves and it was very enjoyable to watch... Loved it!
This was really all I expected it to be. I wasen't expecting much, which could have made it seem better to be honest. I liked the first two, the third one was pretty shite. What I found intresting, and what really got me to watch it, was the fact it was in computer animation. I thought anything could look better than those plastic costumes back in the original movies (sure, they look cool when you're kids but now as a teenager!, well). What to say about the animation then? The turtles themselves have never looked better. The animation works great for them and it allows the action to flow more freely. But the animation is poor on the human characters, they just look so fake and out of proportion. Its a shame really. The action works well with the animation, even if it is a bit hard to see. The new look has allowed for a more stupid over the top fantastical storyline. 13 monsters on he loose tat have something to do with a 3000 year old immortal who wants to lift a curse and blah de blah blah. The story fitted well, but I didn't really like it much. It seemed all a bit to videogamish, in which each slight plot development could have easily just come from a low class PS2 game. It also seems to be too dramatic for what the film is about, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (mmmm...). The only time it seems to be very un-dramatic is with the orange and purple ones (I forget their names!). I didn't like the whole tormented brothers thing. The action saves this, and I will admit at times the story got my attention! Just basicly watch this to reminis on the old TMNT you watched as a kid, just with a new makeover!
i love teenage mutant ninja turtles so i liked this. Would have preferred they aged it with the crowd, but i liked the animation style that they took
I grew up watching the cartoon and the original movies. This title had a lot to live up to, and almost succeeded.
I actually liked the original TMNT better, but that's only because of the witty banter. This movies was pretty cool though...the cgi was very well done.
Fourteen years have passed, and the Turtles aren't teens anymore, in this fully realized CGI adaptation of the saga, ignoring the second and third movies, (like Superman Returns ignored the third and fourth Superman movies), but this time it works. An evil immortal has second thoughts when he brings his stone soldiers back to life, platyed oddly by Patrick Stewart, who can't deliver a bad performance, (even when he was in the Pagemaster), and the fourt tutrles, April, and Casey are back, and the Foot Clan returns too. The only drawback is the odd way they made the humans look, skinny and anorexic, except for the big warlord dude. Even so, it's a cool movie, and actually darker than the first flick. Think of it as a sequel to the cartoon series from the late 80s, early 90s, with the odd character deisgns, and a nod to the newer 2000s series, where they actually do look like these CGI guys, and it works.
Pretty good, especially in its exploration of the Turtles' family dynamics, but the overall story is weak. I'm hopeful for a sequel, and with it, an appearance from Shredder.
This was bullshit- HE CLAIMED TO BE A FAN of the old black and white Kevin Eastman And Peter Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles independent comic book, and also that he was gonna "make it accurate to continuity", but the only thing this ass-hole director really did was take ONE original character (Karai) from the 'mics to add on the established main cast, then throw the bunch into YET ANOTHER cartoon crap-fest that never has nor ever will affect them or matter... while also wasting most the film lamenting over some seperation that didn't happen in any movies or cartoon, so potential Shredder or Baxter Stockman confrontations are kept from the story with "Well we kinda already battled those guys, even though you didn't see it or have us recap it in an amazing CGI flashback. Plus we're getting old in an unaging universe, so we can ward off many of the newer audience members while purposely getting fun-filled children cry!" sort dialogue.
Also, it's been 13 years since Jurassic Park and these guys refuse to do good skin textures or shaping? Come on, the T-1000 is basically a sphere with eyes and these trained professionals won't even mimic THAT quality! The only saving grace, beside maybe the interest of watching it a couple times, is the array of famous actors' doing voices.
I love the ninja turtles. I was a little boy during peak turtle mania, and I was a little on the fence about this movie. It completely surprised me. It was everything I wanted from a TMNT movie and more. They followed up with the story established in the original movies and continued the story. The CGI animation was a little strange and annoying to the human characters, but it lent itself well to the turtles themselves. The animation was the only real downside and it was easily ignored by the non stop action it delivered and the charming story that was true to the TMNT name.
Well the only reasons I watched this was for the stars (mainly Ziyi, Kevin, and Laurence) and the live action ones were pretty good.
I didn't really like it. the CG fight gave me a head ache and the story wasn't that good at all. Also it needed more Shredder (which it has non in it).
While without the edge of the comic book or the fun and personality of the cartoon the movie still has some moments that show why young genetically altered reptiles trained in martial arts is such an enduring concept.
i saw the trilogy, which is of course a staggering instance of cinematic genius, so i have to see this
Not bad. Did a good job of keeping the character qualities intact. And a lot of polish to the animation.
But weird all the same. They've really gone away from the fun that made the Turtles the Turtles to me. April as a ninja was definitely way off character. And the bad guys were just strange.
surprisingly, this had very very good cgi, and a not too bad plot to boot, i was expecting much much less from this, was a pleasant surprise
Shedding the confines of the original 1990s live-action versions, the new TMNT runs free with crisp, malleable animation and kick-ass action. Franchise fans young and old should be duly entertained.
Great movie that's appropriate for kids. Lots of action, jokes, and morals starring your favourite team of turtles. Great family movie, but also good enough to watch just for fun.
