Plot: A man comes back from the grave in the guise of a night bird to avenge his and his girlfriend's deaths.
mi pelicula favotita de todos los tiempos, creo que es bueno que las personas la vean aunque sea 1 vez en la vida :) yo en mi caso la veo cada vez que puedo
For me the movie must be a classic, and everyone should see it al leaast once, Alex proyas made a goo work, excellent.
One of the best films ever created. This tragic story is not only told beautifully but is also as realistic as it is dark. Brandon Lees' tragic death during its film also serves to lend more weight to it's darkness. This film is a must see for all!!
this movie is kick ass but its kind of ironic about the movie and than what happened to Brandon, sad to.
When rock-star Eric Draven and his fiancé are brutally murdered the night before Halloween, one year later Eric is risen from the dead and his soul re-incarnated in a mysterious crow. His purpose; revenge, which he reeks upon those that ruined his life and stole the only person he truly loved. Based on the comic-strip by James O Barr, 'The Crow' is a gothic fantasy that proves to be a real slice of authentic action cinema. Although it bares many resemblances to both the previous and recent 'Batman' franchises (This is mostly due to facial make-up, costume and darker ethical territory) it still manages to stand alone as a raunchy, twisted thriller and delivers the expected sense of justice and fulfilment through its haunted lead character portrayed by the late, but excellent Brandon Lee. Although at times his acting style is slightly over-dramatic, he still delivers a credible and entertaining performance and fills the shoes of the 'action hero' perfectly. The rest of the cast perform to a decent standard, and although the character of Sarah played by Rochelle Davis is a little cliché and sometimes un-convincing, it doesn't scar the film to deeply. It can be argued that the plot is predictable; Lee picking his victims off one by one; but inevitably that is the point of the film, and its overt nature is certainly not one if its flaws. With some excellent special effects, brilliantly iconic symbols and an edgy, atmospheric soundtrack, 'The Crow' turns out to be a great action-fantasy flick. Some may find it a little cliché or melodramatic, but ultimately the film is a decent action thriller that will not disappoint its target audience. Worth a look.
"It can't rain all the time."
I love The Crow.
Brandon Lee is simply brilliant. Not only that, the emotion and beauty of this film is breath taking.
Brandon Lee's death makes this movie all the more macabre, shocking and thought provoking, and carries throughout the film the uncanny feeling that truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
The direction by Alex Proyas really triumphed over many other cult films with sheer captivating scenes and helping to develop the widely famous comic characters as people we can associate to.
I believe everyone should see this at least once. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention the performance of Michael Wincott. Wow.
The perfect comic adaptation. And, that's something - as the comic is a wonderful piece of literature and not very film-friendly! This film is beautiful in every respect - cinematography, casting, acting, design, sound, soundtrack, score and, of course, directing. The story is incredibly touching, and very powerfully told. And, of course, Brandon Lee delivers a stunning performance. However, this film deserves to be fully regarded as a classic in its own right, without the tragic death of Brandon Lee attracting attention. This would be a critically acclaimed film without this real-life aspect, as would the more recent Dark Knight without Ledger's death. The Crow is one of the most powerful love stories ever told, and is still the best comic book adaptation to date.
If you have to leave, leave on top of your game. It was a shame that Brandon Lee was taken from us, but he left one hell of a piece of film to watch forever.
Although I didn't watch the whole movie, I did think it stank. I turned it off sometime around the time he "confronts" the gangsters and they shoot him up BIG TIME. Then he gets up and acts like he's some type of a badass for not dying. Whateva! Truly preposterious cinematography as well. The night was dark. It was raining. My soul ached. (type of shit).
Pretty cool movie. Brandon Lee was excellent and it was a shame he died filming this. Good action, great scripted dialogue and a unique story.
superbly done...poetic and dark...amazing..i would have given it a higher rating had the acting been better on some of the characters
NOW this is one of the greatest movies ever. BRANDON LEE(the crow) is sooooo CUTE IN THIS MOVIE. Good story basis.
The Crow was shot really well and the pacing is great, however the films details keep this from being a classic. It is just no fun to have a hero that can't really be hurt.
Apart from one disgustingly tragic flaw, which must remain nameless for the sake of the its reputation, this movie is basically perfect. Brandon Lee gives a hellishly outstanding performance as Eric Draven, who returns from grave a year after he and his fiancée are brutally murdered to avenge their deaths and to...make things right? Well certainly, much of this movie doesn't make actual sense, but it's not supposed to be a complex thought-provoking thriller now, is it? It's exactly what it needed to be- dark, funny, entertaining, beautiful and easily in my top ten...
"The Crow" would become Brandon Lee's last film, as he tragically died during the filming, but I'm pretty sure he would be happy with the final product. The movie is based on James O'Barr (that also have a cameo in the movie) graphic novel with the same name and tells the story of Eric Draven (Brandon Lee), a man that together with his girlfriend got killed by a gang of thugs on Halloween. A year later the power of a crow brings Eric back from the dead to give him a chance to have his revenge and 'to put the wrong things right'. "The Crow" has an amazing storyline, great visuals, good cast/characters and is well directed. A true classic.
Its not the best movie I have seen but I like it because of Brandon Lee, which I attach him to bruce lee who is one of my favorite action actors
I love this film. The music is fantastic, the violence is crazy and Brandon Lee owns every scene he is in. The follow up films should be flushed down the toilet.
Suddenly I heard a tapping, as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. You heard me rapping, right?
I love The Crow.
Brandon Lee is simply brilliant. Not only that, the emotion and beauty of this film is breath taking.
Sadly, Brandon Lee's death makes this movie all the more macabre, shocking and thought provoking, and carries throughout the film the uncanny feeling that truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
A haunting, action-packed thrill ride with gorgeous set pieces, a phenomenal lead performance by Brandon Lee, and a stark emotional catharsis that'll rock you to the core.
"Fire It Up! Fire It Up! Fire It Up!!"
Just watched it again, after 14 years, back then I never really appreciated this cuz I was a bit too young to understand the story, but damn this move rocked! I dont want to spoil anything for those who havent watched this, but for some odd reason, watching this again (2008) reminded me of a lot of things...
I wonder if The Hardy Boys (WWE) got theirr signature move (the Swanton Bomb) and their getup from this movie. Hmmnn...
Damn this movie had it all, action, cheezy, heroics, vengeance, the damned heartbroken lover, fantasy, and even watching the stupid characters didnt give me a headache.
Im not going to rate this and compare it to todays generation of filmmaking cuz that would be unfair, so Im gonna rate this according to how films were made back then.
This one was rockin awesome!
The soundtrack was cool as hell too, ((STP, NIN, RATM, J&MC, The Cure))
This ones a gold classic!!
Factoid: The movie was based on a comic.
Even better then i remembered. Brandon Lee is fantastic its a shame he died while making the movie he could of done some really great movies. Fantastic movie brandon lee's death may even have made it Epic.

I can't believe more people don't see the connection between The Crow and Blade Runner. Do yourself a favor and watch both films back to back. Storywise, yeah they're a lot different. In terms of tone and aesthetic quality they are very similar, and both stellar films.
I'm dying to see this..but I can never seem to find it any of our movie stores... :(
i luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv this movie....i no every quote there is...altogeather ive seen this movie 219 times and im still not bored of this movie. once u watch this movie thn "there aint no cumin back""there aint no cumin back"

no Sequel can ever live up to THE CROW hands down best fucking movie ever R.i.P Brandon Lee "it cant' rain all the time" do you guys know that the sirens you hear at the End are real sirens
I remember watching this movie when i was small, i still love it to this very day! Great story line and everything! This film is definatly for those who enjoy a good gothic thriller!
It's really sad knowing that Brandon died because the gun was loaded on the set! The set up crew should really take these things into precautions! We wouldn't know what he may of become, im sure that he would of been the next Brad Pitt, but better! Him wife is now campaigning to unable the set up crew to use loaded guns on set.
Stupied how a life could be taken away that easily. Some sick websites APPARENTLY said that they got his death caught on camera and they are showing it, what real idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!
if he was shot on set how come he was through out the entire film? was this a set up, did some one know that gun was loaded? Great film with a lot of heart.
