John Malkovich mini-bio: In 1976 John Malkovich joined Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, newly founded by his friend Gary Sinise. After that it would take seven years before Malkovich would show up in New York and win an Obie in Sam Shepard's play "True West". In 1984 Malkovich would appear with Dustin Hoffman in the Broadway revival of "Death of a Salesman", which would earn him an Emmy when it was made into a made-for-TV movie the next year. His big-screen debut would be as the blind lodger in Places in the Heart (1984), which earned him an Academy Award Nomination for best supporting actor. Other films would follow, including The Killing Fields (1984) and The Glass Menagerie (1987), but he would be well remembered as Vicomte de Valmont in Dangerous Liaisons (1988). Playing against Michelle Pfeiffer and Glenn Close in a costume picture helped raise his standing in the industry. He would be cast as the psychotic political assassin in Clint Eastwood's In the Line of Fire (1993), for which he would be nominated for both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe. In 1994 Malkovich would portray the sinister Kurtz in the made-for-TV movie Heart of Darkness (1994) (TV), taking the story to Africa as it was originally written. Malkovich has periodically returned to Chicago to both act and direct.

I'm MORPHINE,I'm from Romania,I first discovered John in my high-school years in ''LES MISERABLES''(with Gerard Depardieu),since than I've become his devoted fan!!!:)
My favourite movie is ''Mary Reilly'' and ''Dangerous Liaisons'',but even though I've seen only few movies with John(unfortunatelly here in Romania he is not well-known...:(((( )he always succeed in impressing me...it's not only the voice or his undeniable charm...he really has something strange&attractive which always seduces me...he's a native talent,he makes my life more beautiful every time I see a movie with him!!!

I know for a fact that John Malkovich was from Benton, IL. I don't know for sure which town he was born in, but I know this due to the fact that I live in a town to the east of Benton. Its a big thing that we, meaning the locals of Franklin County, have a celebrity. I have even seen pictures of him in his Benton Ranger football jersey, if I am remembering right. Just thought the world should know.

Almost every sight I know gets this wrong. John Malkovich was born in Benton Illinois.
I know because I was born there too.'
John hosted Saturday night live once to my knowledge and said with the words from his own lips that he is from a small town called,Benton, Illinois.
Come on now. Christopher Illinois is a bit further away but close to Benton.
I acutally partied there when I was about 21. Strange places there. Oh well have to go. If John Malkovich gets this please remitt to me. I think I met you once when I was a visitor at my cousin's grade school. It was summer school. My cousin and I were standing next to a candy machince. I looked up cause of this very tall boy with the most amazing set of eyes I've ever been glued too were stareing back at me. I was a short child even now I am still very short. I just remember his eyes. It was almost like they were pulling me into his mind to relate to me," I'm hungray for some candy too, hurry please?"
